I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Global Development Policy Center (GDP Center), Boston University. I received a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Washington, Seattle in May 2024. 

My research focuses on environmental politics, particularly the role of governments in adopting decarbonization solutions across different governance levels and institutional settings. My central question is: What hinders or facilitates governments in developing, adopting, and diffusing decarbonization technologies? 

I am currently revising and expanding my article-based dissertation, Determinants of Transportation Electrification Policy at Local, Cross-Municipal, and Cross-National Levels, for publication. My research investigates the determinants, policymaking processes, and implementation of electric mobility policies across three distinct institutional contexts: global EV trade policies, China's domestic EV infrastructure subsidy policy, and the local politics of supportive EV policies in King County, Washington State.

My current research focuses on three key areas within the electric vehicle sector. 

• Factors and stakeholders influencing trade policy design for decarbonization technologies.

• Comparative analysis of the respective roles of China and the U.S. in the global decarbonization technology supply chain

• Societal, economic, and developmental impacts of decarbonization policies

I am interested in  communicating research findings to wider audiences and co-creating knowledge with community partners. My work has appeared in Washington Post and several International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) reports. 

Before joining the Ph.D. program at the University of Washington, Seattle, I received my Bachelor's degree (in International Politics and Philosophy) from Peking University, China. I received my Master in International Affairs from the Geneva Graduate Institute (Institut de hautes études internationales et du développement), Switzerland. I have worked for the International Institute for Sustainable Development and the International Trade Center. I speak Mandarin, English, and French.
